Stanford Libraries and Resources

Stanford University Libraries are a dynamic network of resources, spaces, and subject experts assembled with the mission to stimulate intellectual curiosity, sustain academic research, and support teaching and learning. With over 12 million items, 50 subject specialists, and 20 campus libraries, the opportunities for contributing to and transforming scholarship are infinite.

Readers browse the expansive holdings in the SearchWorks catalog; researchers look to Research and Data Services and the Office of Scholarly Communications to expand, analyze, and preserve their work; and students enjoy the study spaces and academic programs in all the libraries. Stanford affiliates and visiting scholars frequently use Special Collections in the Archive of Recorded Sound at the Music Library, the Branner Earth Sciences Library, the Bowes Art & Architecture Library, the East Asia Library, the Silicon Valley Archives, the David Rumsey Map Center, and in the Field Room in Cecil H. Green Library, Stanford’s main library.
